Day 12 - Rocky Mountain National Park

After spending all morning getting the car repaired, we immediately put it back to work and went on a scenic drive my Aunt Philippa recommended. It brought us through various ski villages and the Rocky Mountain National Park.

The drive had a lot of really pretty scenic overlooks! There was a lot of wildlife in the park. It was the first time I had ever seen wild elk and a moose! The moose had a little baby with her too!We finally reached the summit and it was freezing! There was a hiking path we took that brought us to the summit of the mountain. The elevation made it so difficult to breathe. We also were completely unprepared to hike in the snow! Elevation: 2.3 miles! This reminded me of Cazenovia in the winter!

We drove over the Continental Divide several times...
And last but not least... the Stanley Hotel; Stephen King's inspiration for the Shining's "Overlook Hotel." REDRUM!!!
