Days 6 & 7 - New Orleans

We have spent the last two days in "The Big Easy" ~ New Orleans. We spent basically all of our time in the historic French Quarter. This city struck us both as being incredibly unique compared to any other city we had ever visited.

On our drive from Alabama to New Orleans we passed through Mississippi. We didn't know if we would ever be back so we took advantage of our time there by visiting the Welcome Center!

We took several walks through the French Quarter and admired the buildings.

This was not my idea...but we took a detour and found what we THINK is Angelina Jolie's and Brad Pitt's house.

The sun was setting over the famous Jackson Square.

Yeah, I know this looks gross. It is Red Beans and Rice and it tasted great though! And as you can see I temporarily began eating pork and red meat again. We followed up dinner with a visit to Cafe du Monde where we drank chicory coffee and ate beignets.

This is a daytime picture, but Sarah and I went back to this club called "The Spotted Cat" later this night to hear some awesome jazz! And finally... crazy crazy Bourbon Street.
